F.E.A.R. 2 Review

F.E.A.R = First Encounter Assault Recon.

I bet every fps gamer remembers this abbreviation along with the game title.
First FEAR was delivering an intense horrific experience along with great graphics, brutality and physics. Project Origin starts just 30 minutes after the end of FEAR one.
The plot didn't change much since the first part is just kind of deeper.
Becket's squad's mission was to save Genevieve Aristide but it got interrupted by a nuclear explosion, which sent Becket to hospital surrounded by a devastated city, demons, wraiths, zombies and soldiers that want to clear up the city... from every living form.
We still have a girl able to destroy the entire world, we have delta squad, we have another nuclear explosion, we have time slowdown ability... so what's new?

First Impression

I was positively surprised when I saw the new graphics in Project Origin.
The style isn't entire new; it reminds me of the first part of the game but...
Effects, textures, animation are fresh and well made that make playing this game more and more addictive and fun.
Modified F.E.A.R game engine ( Lithtech Jupiter Ex ) is capable of delivering next generation graphics without any problems and it's scaling is definitely incredible.
Game requirements are pretty low for a next gen production.
You can play it with comfort on mid-end and low-end PCs.

Graphic isn't everything

You think first FEAR was scary ?
Compared to Project Origin first part can be at least just normal fps.
Prepare to experience more frightening moments than in first FEAR.
F.E.A.R 2 is the first game for a very long that was able to hold my breath or stop my heart beating for a while. Moving in a dark room, surrounded by a bunch of zombies running on walls much faster than you, paranormal channel between Alma and Becket that allow us to see her sick visions, fountains of blood and devastated corpses covering floor and walls along with symphony of sounds and climactic music do it's job very well. You never know who's gonna strike; you don't know time and place.
Focusing your mind will be a priority because the game holds you in continuous tension. Project Origin also offers a great shooting experience, extended armaments, slow motion, bullet ripples, extreme particle effects, playing using mech, it just makes the game better and better.

Final Rating:

I wasn't surprised that F.E.A.R 2 was going to be a great game.
I never doubted it even for a second.
It completely followed the first part of the game which is good in my opinion and guaranteed the title attention and millions of fans.

RATING:
10/10 !
