Destroy All Humans 2

Once upon a time, a hilarious game was released that put you in the shoes of a quirky alien that was trying to take over the planet Earth.  Now, the sequel has been released, Destroy All Humans 2!  You can now continue the story of Cryptospordium-137… a potty mouthed alien set on destroying the Earth while trying not to get too distracted by the ladies he has such a soft spot for.

This sequel takes place in 1969; 10 years after the first Destroy All Humans took place.  Crypto returns to wreak havoc on the planet Earth with some new weapons and some enhanced mental abilities.  Some of his new weapons include:  The Dislocator, the Burrow Beast, the Meteor Strike, and the Gastro.  These weapons will help him blast away buildings, vehicles, people, and more.   He also has full use of his UFO which aids him in toppling buildings and his Jetpack when he gets overwhelmed by the enemy.  His enemies include the CIA, the military, ninjas, huge creatures, and of course…all humans.

His enhanced abilities include:  reading minds, psychokinesis, body snatching, and more.  In this game, Crypto has unlimited use of his psychokinesis, which was limited in the first game.  Another change is that Crypto no longer has to collect DNA to advance in the plot.  However, if Crypto wants to use his advanced abilities, he is going to have to abduct enough people and toss them into the Gene Blender.

Since it is 1969, there are a lot of peace loving hippies strolling about.  This tends to annoy Crypto.  The solution… just pull out the old Zapomatic and vaporize them!  The entire game actually makes fun of hippies, along with everything else imaginable.  Many situations come up in the game that are quite hilarious, especially with regards to what crypto does to the humans.  An example:  convincing hippies to worship a fake God called Arkdoodle.  Another example:  Forcing people to have a sex change.  And you thought anal probes were bad!  About the only thing that Crypto doesn’t try to take out are the illustrious busty women that he will constantly try to make a move on!

Destroy All Humans 2 has a couple of other changes that are very much welcomed.  You can now freely travel to 5 new open world locations.  Each location has the main mission to accomplish, along with many different side quests that reap various awards.   There is also a new upgrade system for weapons and equipment.  Crypto must now collect Furotech cells used for purchasing the upgrades.  The Furotech cells can be found throughout the levels or collected as rewards after each mission and side quest. There are also many unlockables to find by collecting various alien artifacts and by performing genetic experiments on those poor unsuspecting hippies!

Destroy All Humans 2 does not have the best graphics to look at, but they are not terrible either.  What is missing from the graphics is more than made up for with the hilarious dialogue.  You will find yourself in tears from laughing so much.  You will also constantly ask yourself “what will Crypto say next?”  His antics are just so off the wall!  As for the music and sound effects… well, they are cheesy.  But they set the mood for this type of game perfectly!

Destroy All Humans 2 is available for Playstation 2 and XBOX.  It has an ESRB rating of T for teen.  This is because the game features violence, strong language, sexual themes, and crude humor.  For you cheaters out there, a strategy guide is available!
