By doing this it will bring you to the next set of options under Performance and Maintenance. Click on “Free up space on your hard disk”. Once you do so the Disk Cleanup tool will then open, asking you to select the drive you want to cleanup. Click on the drop down menu and select which drive you would like to cleanup then click “ok”. From there the Disk Cleanup will then begin scanning the drive you selected. Once Disk Cleanup has completed it’s task the Disk Cleanup window will appear with a list of files to delete. By default Temporary Internet Files and Microsoft Error Reporting Temporary Files are already selected. If you wish to delete other things simply left click the box on the left hand side of the item and a checkmark will be placed inside of the box. Clicking once on any of the boxes that already have checkmarks in them will remove the checkmark. For beginners it is recommended to not change the default selections by Disk Cleanup. Once you have looked over the list and are satisfied with what is checked and or unchecked click on “ok”. A small window will appear asking you if you are sure you want to perform those actions.
