Simply double click on the SpywareGuard icon (v2.2 at the time of writing this) to get the following screen:

Click on the Next> button to get the following screen:

On that screen click on Yes to accept the license get to the following screen:

Now click on Next> to continue the install and get the following screen:

Here, just click on Next> to accept the default install location, unless you have specific requirements, to get to the next screen:

Just leave these options as they are above and click on Next> to get to the following screen:

Uncheck the top option above, “Put a shortcut to SpywareGuard on the Desktop”, because you don’t really need it. SpywareGuard starts with your system every time you reboot. Leave checked the bottom option, "Put a shortcut to SpywareGuard LiveUpdate on the Desktop" so you can easily access the update feature.
Now click on Next> to get the following screen:

Simply click on the Install button now to get the following screen:

Now click on Next> to get to the following screen:

The box above is pre checked. If it isn’t, check it then click on Finish to start using the program. You will notice the new icon near your clock in the task bar. The program will start automatically each time you reboot.
Now you need to run the update to get it up to the current standard. Double click on the icon that was placed on your desktop during the install:

Now you should get the following screen:

Simply click on Next> to get the updates and see the following screen:

Just click on Exit to close the window and continue using the program. That’s it all finished.
There is none really. Just double click the icon on the desktop to launch the updater. Click on Next> to check for updates. It will tell you if there are any or not. Once you have done this, that’s it, all finished.
Click on Exit to close the window and the program runs silently in the background similar in a way to how an anti-virus program works. It also includes capabilities to prevent browser hijacks and provides built-in download protection for Internet Explorer. You can find more specific info if required from the links at the head of this guide.
Just a quick FYI for those who like choices, you can if you like not bother with a shortcut on the desktop, you can simply right click on the icon by the clock, this will bring up the main program and you can select update from there, just click on X to close that window and continue as you were, but I fear many will forget to do it if choosing this method, whereas an icon in say an updates folder will never be forgotten, but the choice is yours.
One thing to note with this software is that updates are rare. In fact, the only update you're likely to see is the one when you first install as above. We still advise checking for updates on a monthly basis. If no updates are available, don’t worry, this is normal. This question has been raised to the makers and they say the following:
The reason for less frequent updates with SpywareGuard is that much of its detection abilities are heuristics in nature. (Basically this means it doesn't need a specific signature for every spyware it catches, simply an overall pattern or approach-used, which it can identify and then trigger off of.) So, SpywareGuard works for many of the newer versions of the same spyware installers even without adding "signatures" for them.
